| Write a short essay of about 200 words on "The Uses of Flowers" | |
Flowers can be used for many occasions. Sad occasions, happy
occasions are some of them.
Most frequently, flowers are given to the female by the
males as a sense of love. When they go out, the male would usually
give his date a bunch of red roses. Even when
proposing, he would give his future wife a bunch
of red roses.
Usually, when there is a sad occasion such as a death
of your relative, people would buy chrysanthemums to
put on their graveyard. A rose or two could be found
together sometimes, but most preferred would be the
chrysanthemums.
When a happy occasion arrives, the house would
be decorated with flowers of different sizes and colours.
Most of the flowers are not real, though. The are
made of plastic. Whether plastic or alive, they would
look brilliant even when put in a dull coloured
house. The flowers would usually be arranged by
a professional. If it is an alive one, they would
usually cost about $50 to $70. When plastic,
it would usually cost $10 to $25. Usually during
Chinese New Year, the Chinese would buy a kind
of tree that have fluffy white buds hanging
around them.
Sometimes, the Malays say, when you haven't
found your life partner, they would bathe the
girl in a flower bath. They would usually
find a partner if fate agreed. It is practised
in the olden days. The Malays belived it would
work. There are less of them practised now. The
person who would have to go through the practise
is the girl. The male don't have to go through it
as the boy would then be match-maked
with the girl who went through the practise.
